VEMOD: Felt during transitions, such as the end of summer, watching a sunset,
leaving a beloved place or remembering a loved one who moved on - VEMOT 

VEMOT was founded on the belief that scent and object should be developed with equal rigor.

After more than two decades as a dedicated candle consumer, I repeatedly encountered products that privileged fragrance over form, or design over performance. In 2021, I began studying candle chemistry and fragrance composition with the intention of resolving this imbalance — approaching the candle not as décor, but as a constructed object of memory.

What began as disciplined experimentation evolved into a structured practice of refinement: testing wax ratios, burn behavior, vessel proportion, and diffusion quality alongside scent architecture. Each decision is guided by function before expression.

Today, VEMOT collaborates with a perfumery in Grasse and a family-owned candle maker in Sweden. Production remains deliberate and measured, emphasizing material stability, clean combustion, natural waxes, and precise fragrance layering.

Raised in rural Finland, where light and season define spatial experience, I developed an early sensitivity to atmosphere as something built rather than described. My background in textile development and tailoring reinforced this understanding, structure, tactility and touch memory.

VEMOT extends this logic into scent. Fragrance is constructed as a composition of intervals and contrasts. Color follows seasonal study — blue winter light, spring green, summer yellow, autumnal red-brown — not as ornament, but as structural reference.

It examines what is left after a moment passes, the afterimage of a scent, the craft of shaping objects and nurturing the nature. It invites reflection, curiosity, and respect for making.

Today the head office is placed in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is the place where VEMOT creates and plans for the future.
